    {My Review}

    The first thing I noticed about the SoftBums Omni is how small it can be with the elastics tightened and mini pod inserted. The size range is incredible. I love the clean look of the diaper with no rise snaps on the front. I have tried many different cloth diapers and this is the only one-size in our stash with no rise-snaps.

    The SoftBums Omni does require a bit of studying and trial and error at the beginning. This was my first time ever seeing and using a diaper with adjustable leg elastics. I read the pamphlets included with the diaper and still had a bit of trouble to understand how it worked at first. I adjusted the elastics to what I thought would fit my son but once I snapped in the pod I had to readjust quite a bit since the Super Pod was so thick. This would be much easier with a younger baby but my 17 month old will not lay still during diaper changes so it was a bit frustrating trying to get the correct fit. Once I had the elastics adjusted properly I really liked how it fit my son. It was snug around the legs and not too bulky. Once the elastics are adjusted correctly you don't need to readjust until your child grows.

    I really like the snap-in-2 feature. If I had other pods I could keep reusing the shell. I found it easier to fold the pod for a correct fit when it was snapped in rather than stuffed. It wasn't until I checked the website that I realized for stuffing the pocket you have to turn the pod around to adjust the fold from the back. (See my video for more details). I think that info should be included in the how-to pamphlet that comes with the diaper. At first I tried to stuff it the same way it was snapped in but then you cannot adjust the fold. It is not accessible from the front. When turned around you can adjust the fold by the back pocket opening.

    Goofing around in his Omni
    The Omni diaper with a snapped in Super DryTouch Pod worked wonders for overnight. It is very soft and absorbent. If you have been following my diaper reviews then you know that my 17 month old son is a super-soaking belly-sleeper that leaks out of almost every pocket diaper we try. Normally a thick fitted and wool longies are the only thing that prevents leaks during his 12-hour-nights. The super pod and good fit around the legs and waist prevented any leaks at night. I was amazed! This will be a great diaper for overnights at other people's houses. Once the leg elastics are adjusted in the beginning all you have to do is snap at the waist.

    I am really excited to try this diaper out on my new baby coming in June. I am convinced that the leg adjustments and DryTouch Mini Pod would make a fantastic newborn pocket diaper. I don't think it would be bulky at all. It is said to fit from 5 lbs to 40 lbs so the SoftBums Omni is a great bang for your buck since you could actually use it from birth unlike many other one-size diapers.

    {Conclusions}

    The SoftBums Omni requires a bit of trial and error to get the correct fit with the leg elastic adjustments. Once they are set correctly then the diaper fits great. I love that SoftBums now come with snaps. I am not a fan of aplix. There are so many options with this diaper. It is a pocket diaper, all-in-2 and cover! The customizable pods are great for getting the right fit and absorbancy. The Omni with a Super Pod did not leak at all even after 12 hours at night. I believe the Omni is a fantastic way to start cloth-diapering. It will fit from 5 to 40 lbs and unlike many one-size diapers I believe it would actually fit from birth. I would love to get more for my new baby.

      From this review, the most amazing piece of knowledge that I learned about these diapers was the fact that the elastic in the legs are what controls the size of the diaper. I LOVE this idea! I have TWO under TWO in diapers and my older child has much skinnier legs than my 6 month old but he is taller and this diaper would be PERFECT for the both of them!!!! I would absolutely love to try some of these diapers!!!!!!! These would also be great for the diaperbag. No more searching for enough of each size to fit both babies. I could just grab several of this diaper and be on my way! :)

    5. I didn't reaslize you should fold the insert the other way when you stuff itin the diaper, would you have to do this with the bamboo pod as well? Anyways, great review, I appreciate the honesty about the pros and cons of the diaper!

    6. I like that it fits babies down to 5 lbs... my first was 5lb 9oz. And this diaper really looks like it would be a good fit for a small newborn as well as a larger child. some OS just don't really get small enough for NB

    7. I like that it fits a newborn all the way down to 5 lbs. That way you don't have to buy newborn cloth diapers.

    8. We've been using our SoftBums (the Echo, not the Omni though) since our little girl was 5 days old (waiting until the umbilical cord fell off) and they are amazing. She's now 8 months old and they fit just as good as ever and we NEVER have leaks. We even convinced my sister in law and her friend to get them for their new little ones and they love them too!!!

    11. I think it's pretty awesome that you control the sizing of the legs with the elastic in them! That would fit my guys chunky legs so much better than normal pockets!
