{My Review}
I received a camouflage Rumps-All-Around (R.A.A.) and an olive green EcoRumps from Rump Arounds to review. The first thing I noticed was the soft minky fabric on both diapers. There are also alternating black and white snap sockets along the waist band. You can see in the green diaper photos above that some of the white snaps show on the setting that my son is on.
After comparing the diapers minutely, the only difference between them is the inner lining. EcoRumps have 100% bamboo inner lining and R.A.A.s have polyester fleece inner lining. I am probably one of the few people that actually prefers polyester lining over the all natural bamboo. That is only because my son gets diaper rashes very easily and it took me a long time to discover that it was the non stay-dry material causing it. For during the day, the bamboo lining is great but for overnight (12 hours) I prefer the stay-dry.
I really like the fit of both of these diapers on my son. They are not bulky at all. The rise is not very high however so some babies may have issues with leaking from along the belly line. My son is almost 21 months and 25 pounds. I leave all the rise snaps undone and the rise is still quite below his belly button.

At first the diapers leaked. I came to realize it was because I had not prepped them enough. Bamboo and other natural materials have to be washed 4-5 times to get their maximum absorbancy. I know this but I am always too excited to try new diapers to wash them that many times. So the leaking was caused by my own impatience not the inserts themselves.
After washing them the required number of times, they worked great. The 100% bamboo inserts are very thin and create a super trim diaper. I used both inserts in the R.A.A diaper for over night and it worked great. No leaks even after 12 hours.
I also used some of my own microfiber inserts in the shells which fit and worked well.
The snaps are quite hard to do up and undo on both of these diapers. I was a little nervous at first that the snaps would pull though the fabric as I tried to unsnap them. This did not happen but I suggest you be careful when first using the diapers. It has been my experience and confirmed by Jennifer of Rump Arounds that the snaps will loosen up as you use them.
In my review video you can see that I had trouble undoing one set of snaps. This was because I had not used that setting and they were not "broken in". The others that came undone easily were the ones that had been used often. My son has just started to unsnap many of his diapers so the fact that they are difficult to undo is actually working in our favor. No more streaking toddler!
All in all, I really like Rump Arounds OS pocket diapers. The minky outer fabric is very soft and I love that both styles come with a 100% bamboo insert. I personally like the Rump-All-Arounds best because I prefer stay-dry linings for overnight. But for all of you mamas that prefer natural materials, then the EcoRumps are for you. Both diapers are nice and trim, definitely no extra bulk with either so they are great under jeans and wouldn't require you to size-up like most cloth diapers do. The cost at $14 and $15 is very reasonable especially for minky diapers with bamboo inserts.
I especially love that Rump Arounds is a Canadian company that is run by fellow moms. Their customer service is excellent. Jennifer has always responded to my questions quickly and efficiently. Not to mention she is super nice!

I learned that they have a lower rise, which to some might be a deterrent, but we LOVE that for our daughter! All of our current diapers seem to sit so high on her stomach.
ReplyDeleteI love he 4 snaps on each wing. And also ( don't think you mentioned) but that it has alternating snap color... That way it's easy to get an even fit.
ReplyDeleteI mentioned the alternating snap color at the beginning of the review. The setting my son is on, only one set of white sockets show, so they are not quite even.
DeleteI like that they have two options a stay dry and bamboo.

ReplyDeletei like that it has a minky outer and comes with a bamboo insert!
ReplyDeleteThey are really affordable and will fit my newborn! That is a difficult to combination to find!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the advice that they offer a lot of giveaways I am trying to help a friend build her stash high enough to have 4 kids in cloth diapers at the same time. She may or may not have her oldest potty trained by the time she has twins. I also Like to find reasonable cloth diaper so I can help mom's become more financially independent

ReplyDeleteI learned several things: that these diapers have inner leg gussets, they have alternating snap colours, and are quite affordable. I'm also loving the different coloured minky. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize the wide weight range that these cover. I'm really intrigued by the alternating snap colors - never seen that before!
ReplyDeleteI have a weakness for minky diapers, and these look pretty good! I love the trim fit. It's nice to know how wide the weight range on these is, and also the alternating snap color is really neat.
ReplyDeleteI seriously love how you thoroughly review your items!! It's great! I like how the Eco diaper can be wrapped up as a disposable! So convienient!
ReplyDeleteI learned that they have a lower rise, which we actually like!
ReplyDeleteI learned that bamboo has to be washed 3-4 times before they are fully absorbent. That's good to know, we have never used bamboo before.
ReplyDeleteI learned that they go up to 40lbs! Bigger than most one-size which is great for our little chunky monkey!
ReplyDeleteI learned that you need to wash the bamboo a bunch in order for it to achieve full absorbanscy.
ReplyDeleteI think the snaps on very diaper I tried have at one time or another seemed like I would pull and tear the fabric. Then I ease off and try again.
ReplyDeleteI really liked that the diaper was minky. I have a larger baby and would have similar issues with the rise on the diaper. Thanks for the review!
