{My Review}

I love my Snappi diaper fastener. It works so well and is very easy to learn. I am using mostly prefolds with my newborn son and if I didn't have a Snappi I wouldn't be using them. I am not a fan of pins at all. Pins freak me out, I am petrified of picking my baby.

I received one Snappi for review and I bought an extra to have on hand. The new day-glo colors make them very easy to find. The one I received is florescent orange.

The Snappi makes using prefolds so easy. You just hook on one wing, pull across and hook on the other wing, then pull down to make a Y making it tight. Sometimes it takes a little adjusting to get the prefold just right but it is really fast to hook and unhook the Snappi.

I have used the Snappi on an all flannel diaper also. It does not grab the material as well as with cotton prefolds but it does work.

I like that the Snappi has an extra safety feature. You can pull the hoop over the hook when not in use and that way if your children find it, they will not get hurt. Generally I do not engage the safety feature because I always put the Snappi up high enough that my toddler can't reach it. It takes extra time to add and then remove the safety for each hook. It is handy to have for the diaper bag however, it stops you or your children from getting hurt when reaching into the bag. The safety feature also keeps the Snappi from hooking into your diapers in the bag.

I think every cloth diaper user should have a Snappi even if they don't use flats, prefolds or contours often. Snappis are so inexpensive that they are great to have on hand just in case.

  4. I'm planning on using prefolds for baby #2 and have been practicing on stuffed animals to check out how the Snappi works. I agree that if it wasn't for the Snappi I wouldn't think about using prefolds!

  5. Thanks for this review! I've been interested in trying these with prefolds but I wasn't sure how they worked. Thanks to your review I know they are easy to use and I'll definitely be checking these out! Also, glad to hear about the safety feature, I just know I'd catch my finger on those in the diaper bag every time LOL!

  7. I learned that they have little teeth that can fingers can be protected from by moving the loop in front of the teeth. I have seen many demonstration videos of the Snappi but have never tried it

  8. I just discovered Snappi's when my son was almost 2. I wish I had found them sooner! Baby #2 is on the way though and I definitely plan on using flats and prefolds with Snappis! I like seeing the pictures of your little one with the prefold and Snappi - since I never used one on a teeny tiny baby. :)

  9. I didn't know that snappis had that extra safety feature, nice! or that they are Made in South Africa? I plan to buy several if I don't receive as gifts. How many does one mom need?

  10. I like the day glo color! It would be easy to find when peering into the dark diaper bag!

  11. How sharp are those snappies? If they come loose can they scratch my baby?

  13. With a newborn baby on the way, I think I really need to get another one of these! I have one, and must admit that I don't use it too frequently, but I've heard so much talk about prefolds with newborns, that I'm beginning to reconsider ;)

  15. We have been using Snappis since we started cloth diapering, and we LOVE them! Our only problem is they disappear often so we have to buy more! They are so handy to have, although it's nice to know they aren't as grippy on flannel.
