{How to Swaddle Instructions}
{Watch My Video Review} {My Review} I am completely new to swaddling a baby. I never swaddled my first son, mostly because I could never get the swaddle right and didn't have a real swaddling blanket. I had often read that swaddling was great for getting newborns to sleep so I was thrilled when SwaddleDesigns agreed to participate in my Newborn Event. The first time I decided to try the marquisette swaddling blanket was at midnight. My son was less than a week old and I had been trying for 3 hours to get him to go to sleep for the night. I nursed him and he would fall asleep, I would put him in his bassinet and 10 minutes later he would be awake again. I did this for 3 hours and finally decided to give swaddling a try. It took a couple of tries to get it tight enough but the next time he fell asleep, he slept for 5 straight hours!
I have used it most nights now and it works fantastically. I love how light and airy it is. It has been an extremely hot and humid summer so far around here and I like that I can swaddle my son without having to worry about him overheating. I have been swaddling him in just an undershirt or light pj's and he has been perfectly warm and content. The marquisette material is so soft, I wish I had sheets made out of it for myself! My favorite feature is the tag instructions sewn right on the blanket. It really came in handy at midnight the first night. I had no idea how to swaddle and it was great to read their 1-2-3 instructions. Such a great idea, no need to search around when you have a crying baby in your arms. The short sleeve body suit is really cute and seems to be high quality. The one I received is size 6 to 12 months however and it fits my 1.5 week-old well now. He was 8 lbs 14 oz at birth and is a little heavier than that now but by 6 months I'm sure the body suit will not fit him. It is also $15.00 for one which I find quite expensive for a onesie. The Marquisette swaddling blanket is only $20.00 however and I think that is a great price for what you get. The blanket is so light, airy and soft. The instructions are always available and it really helps my son sleep better. I so wish I would have had one when my first son was born. I would like to have two right now as my son often leaks out of his diapers or spits up on it. If I had another I could swaddle every night. I will definitely be buying SwaddleDesigns Marquisette blankets as baby shower gifts for friends in the future. It is a newborn must-have! {Buy It} Marquisette Swaddling Blanket --- $20.00 Short Sleeve Body Suit --- $15.00 {Connect} Newsletter | ||||

I learned that there is a tag in the SwaddleDesigns Marquisette Swaddling Blanket that shows you how to swaddle ... this is awesome as you may not have time to open your computer and look up swaddling instructions when you need it most!
ReplyDeleteI learned that this blanket was designed by an RN, I'm an RN as well :)
ReplyDeleteI like that it is 46x46 inches. So many swaddle blankets are way too small.
ReplyDeleteI learned there is a built in tag that shows you how to swaddle - how very convenient!
ReplyDeleteI like that it has an instruction tag right on the blanket! That is great for anyone else who may be helping you out.

I like that you can get organic cotton.
ReplyDeleteLove the awesome lightweight options!! GREAT for summer, it's a HOT one!!!
ReplyDeleteI learned that it is 46 x 46 which seems huge collared to most of the falling blasters I have seen before
ReplyDeleteAutocorrect strikes again that was swaddling blankets instead of falling blasters, and compared not collared
DeleteThanks for the laugh! No clue how "swaddling blankets" got corrected to "falling blasters" but I am laughing so hard right now! :)
DeleteToo funny! You can't trust technology these days. LOL
DeleteI learned that the blankets are 46 inches X 46 inches; I wish I had a few of these with my daughter.

ReplyDeletethe angry birds are SO CUTE!
ReplyDeleteI like how there is a "how-to" swaddle label ON the blanket. Takes the guess work out of it!
ReplyDeleteI love swaddling and it's the best way to help babies sleep at night.
ReplyDeleteI learned that I can never lose the 'instructions' on how to swaddle, because they're sewn on the blanket!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review and instructions!
ReplyDeleteI learned it has a 123 instruction lable for those new moms like me! I'd be nervous otherwise..don't want to get it wrong!
ReplyDeleteLove that their is an option for warmer climates, like Texas!
ReplyDeleteI love the lightweight options!! It has been so hot here and these would allow for my lo to still be swaddled

I wish I'd known about these sooner! I was swaddling but my son grew out of all the blankets I had so fast. This one being so big would have been a wonder for me. And I love the different weight blankets, we could use a cooler one right now.
ReplyDeleteThe tag is awesome, and I love that it's lightweight!
ReplyDeleteI learned that the directions are right on the tag so you can't lose them.
ReplyDeleteI love how large these blankets are! Nothing skimpy here :)
ReplyDeleteI really want to try the lavender set for my baby girl due in Sept. Really wish they offered more organic items though.
ReplyDeleteThese designs are very cute. I like that they are both light weight too.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the large size of the blanket!
ReplyDeleteI love how big the blanket is!
ReplyDeleteI learned the difference between their muslin and gauze is a higher thread count... I've been wondering why theirs are softer!
ReplyDeleteThe ultimate receiving blanket would be great for us since we live in the midwest (and baby is due in frigid February).
ReplyDeleteI learned how easy it is to swaddle a baby thanks to the tag instructions.
ReplyDeleteI love the size of the swaddling blanket!

The one thing I would have been most interested in learning.. is the washability of the blanket. It sounds very nice and cozy, but if it's something that requires hand washing and air drying.. it's a deal breaker. When you have a baby, you don't really have the time to fuss with clothes and blankets like that.
ReplyDeleteIt is machine washable. I had to wash it a few times as my son spits up a lot.
