{My Review}

Tropical Traditions is the first coconut oil that I have ever used. I have heard so many great things about them from fellow bloggers that I was very excited to try it.

I received a 32 oz glass jar full of the Tropical Traditions Gold Label Organic Virgin Coconut Oil to review. It came wrapped very well in a cardboard box with bubble wrap for protection.

I used some oil to make a recipe I found on the Tropical Traditions website. Chocolate Coconut Peanut Butter Drops {Gluten Free}, you can see my  post with the recipe and photos here.

The oil worked great in the recipe. It melted very well and quickly in the saucepan. I will continue to cook with Tropical Traditions coconut oil regularly.

I scooped out a bit and placed it into a glass container for skin care use. I have read a lot about the benefits of coconut oil. It has been known to help with diaper rash and other skin irritations. I haven't used it for diaper rash yet as my  boys haven't had any rashes lately. I love that coconut oil is cloth diaper safe though. Many cloth safe diaper rash creams have coconut oil in it.

I tried Tropical Traditions coconut oil on my hands. I have very dry, irritated skin on the backs of my hands in winter. The coconut oil helped very quickly. It was very greasy since it is an oil but it lessened the soreness and redness in just one day after repeated applications. It also did not sting like many hand creams I have tried. It smells great and has a very smooth texture.

I love the business practices of Tropical Traditions. It is great that they employ rural families to harvest the coconuts and produce the oil by hand using traditional methods. It is rare to find products that are not mass produced. The coconuts are all certified organic as well!

You can purchase Tropical Traditions coconut oil in 4 difference sizes: 16 oz trial size, 32 oz, 1 gallon and 5 gallons. The prices are a little high, $40.00 for 32 oz. (On sale now for $29.50!) but you can buy in bulk and save a good deal of money. You really get your money's worth because of the high quality organic oil and ethical production practices.

I would definitely recommend Tropical Traditions coconut oil to my friends and family.

  13. I've had great experience with this brand, too. I've used it for roasting veggies even before my friend, who's on the Paleo diet, told me coconut oil is one of the best for cooking! I haven't used it on my skin, but I haven't needed to this winter...maybe because I'm cooking with coconut oil?

  15. I would love to try coconut oil. I cloth diaper and had my inserts ruined due to traditional rash creams being used. So I would love to have this on had for my second babe. I would also love to try cooking with it for me and my kids but only when hubby isn't home as he's allergic to coconut.
